    Two new cases of human plague reported

    The New Mexico Department of Health is reporting two confirmed cases of the plague in Santa Fe County, CBS affiliate KRQE reports. Officials say both recent cases were in women, one age 52 and the other 62. Plague bacteria, Yersinia pestis. This makes it a total of three cases reported in the area in 2017.

    Maine confirms its first case of measles in 20 years

    AUGUSTA, Maine — The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention is investigating a confirmed case of measles in Franklin County that it says is related to travel.
